New 'How to Rent’ and ‘How to Let’ guides

The Government have updated the 'How to Rent’ and ‘How to Let’ guides.

'How to Rent' should be issued to all tenants at the commencement of a new tenancy, and although there is no requirement to serve a new guide for ongoing or already periodic tenancies, the guide should be provided upon the renewal of the tenancy.  The links are here:

Landlords are reminded that issuing the up to date ‘How to Rent' guide to tenants at the start of the tenancy forms one of the requirements for a Section 21 notice to be valid, should they wish to gain possession using this notice.
